Jen Shah Does Not Say No to Red Bottoms: The Miseducation of Mary Cosby

Heather Gay gifts her business partner a new car and Lisa Barlow cleans a toilet. It's the 15th episode of the Real Housewives and Salt Lake City and the first of the New Year.

Jennie Nguyen meets her husband at his office for lunch. She tells him the Pho Luncheon (aka The Peace Garden Summit) went horribly. Jennie tells her husband that Mary referred to her as having "beautiful slanted eyes" and Jennie is planning on confronting Mary over the racist remark.

Meredith Marks and Mary Cosby meet for lunch. Mary has issues with Jennie yelling at her during the Peace Garden Summit. Mary talks in a generic Asian accent to portray Jennie to Meredith. Mary wants Lisa to keep Jennie in check. Mary brings up Meredith and Lisa’s relationship. Meredith is upset because Lisa pursued a friendship with Jen while Jen was harassing Meredith and her family.

Lisa’s son Jack is going to prom. In her confessional, Lisa retells her prom and claims she ruined the night and her date left her with their whole picture package.

Heather helps Whitney Rose set up her relaunch party. She reveals that her and Justin used up their entire savings to rebrand her beauty company. Whitney tells Heather what Lisa told her at the crater: that Mary had said “see what happens to you when you go against me” in regards to Jen’s arrest. Bad WHeather speculates that Mary knew something because Meredith knew something. And that’s why Mary called that morning to say she would arrive to Vail separately. Heather thinks Lisa must be on the outs with Meredith because then Meredith would have left Lisa out of the loop to ride the bus with everyone else while Jen was arrested.

Jen Shah and her mom make care packages for the National American Tongan Society.

She reveals they’ll be downsizing and scaling back to liquidate $2 million into cash. Her mom has offered to give her just under a million and cash out her entire retirement to support her.

Mary gets upset at Whitney's event as no one takes her coat upon entry. Jennie brings all of the women to sit down so she can confront Mary about her racist slanted eyes comment and return the booties to her. Mary says she didn’t know it was offensive and Meredith stood by her and said she didn’t know it was offensive (even though she admitted to knowing enough to not say it). In their confessionals, the women criticizes Meredith for not calling Mary out the way they feel she would've called everyone else out. Jennie also reveals that Lisa had let it slip the booties Mary gifted Jennie were originally meant for Jen. Jennie explains regifting is seen as offensive in culture, as well; she would like to return them to Mary because she doesn’t believe the shoes were meant for her. Mary then gives the shoes to Jen who accepts them. Through the receipt Mary left in the box, it comes out that Mary bought them for herself for the Season 1 reunion; they were on sale and she couldn’t return them. Whitney asks the group to make a pact they will try to not say racist and offensive comments to one another. Meredith brings up that she feels it’s inappropriate for the women to act like untrue friends to Jen when Jen is at a point in her life where she needs true friendships—except don’t look to Meredith for that friendship. Jen still wants to know why Meredith can’t be that friend to her. Lisa wants to know why Meredith keeps saying that and to who is it being directed to. Mary gets up from the group and Meredith follows. Meredith tells Seth that they’re going to leave. Mary calls her driver Victor to come get her. Lisa confronts Meredith and Meredith claims that Lisa is the one attacking her. Lisa goes up to Mary to try to tell her that her feelings are hurt after she made a comment about “Mexican thugs”. Whitney tries to make a toast with everyone present but Mary and Lisa argue outside. Mary tells Lisa she comes across as two-faced. In her confessional, Mary admits that maybe she did say Mexican cartel but only because Jen Shah had braids on and there was homeland security and a helicopter coming after her. Meredith congratulates Whitney on the rebranding and the episode ends.
